Cable Beach

Five miles west of downtown Nassau, and named for the first underwater phone
cable that reached here in 1892, CABLE BEACH is home to numerous hotels,
restaurants and sports facilities, along with a major golf course and tennis
courts. Two of the top hotels, Breezes and Sandals , are all-inclusive resorts,
though the other major establishments also feature an array of eateries, shops,
pools, bars and beach activities.

Along the beach, whispering casuarina trees line the sands, and offshore lie
North Cay and Long Cay , which make nice day trips for snorkellers and
picnickers. At the end of Cable Beach is Delaporte Point Beach , a chic
assortment of Venice-style apartment condos, fancy shops and restaurants.
